I've been thinking about a topic to write about for a long time, but I can't seem to get myself together and write something useful and meaningful.
I'm coming back from the year where my brain finally worked a little.
I've been reading the groups a bit and answering some of the students' questions and I notice that everyone keeps asking the same questions!
And the answers have been publicly written so many times, discussed, criticized, and then accepted with applause again, but today someone will ask the same question again and expect a different answer that would justify a poor performance with the client.
Unfortunately (or fortunately) eyelash extensions are still done the same way!
We need two tweezers, and not just any kind. You need insulation tweezers, but not the kind your neighbor has, but the kind that will serve YOU. It can be straight or curved.
Personally, I find it easier with curved ones, there's less strain on my wrist and I'm faster, but it's also sometimes easier to "tweeze" the inner corners with straight tweezers.
And of course, tweezers that GRAB the lashes exactly the way we want them. Some at the top, some in the middle, everyone works differently.
Every pair of tweezers is the best for someone.
Which one is best for you?
I don't know!
YOU MUST TRY IT!!!
We invest a lot in trying out materials, I know, but you have to admit, we get a lot back, so don't skimp on 10-20 kn more on materials if it means finding something that might be perfect for you.
The materials have improved...
New adhesives, new liquids that (thank God!!!!) exist, because sometimes even in the most ideal conditions we don't achieve perfect results.
All of this helps, BUT nothing will do the work for you!
There are no magic tweezers or magic eyelashes that will turn you into a strand with just a glance!
First!
You MUST understand all the theory!
You need to understand how and why the glue behaves in the summer and in the winter.
You have to notice the little things about your clients.
Is he stressed?
How long does she wear her eyelashes?
What did you do differently in the last update?
What was the weather like on the last update?
Did she get into a boiling car at 40 degrees after topping up (and you didn't use enough glue)?
What type of glue do you use? Does it suit her eyelashes?
What skin type does he have?
Did you prepare your eyelashes well?
Are they washed with water?
Did you use a primer? Why or why not?
And then another one follows!
When you know all the theory, then you are GOD! (Not literally ALL, because no one knows that😉 but what is needed by us, the technicians)
Then you understand why some things happen!
If you think logically, there are so many new "helps" today, and no more problems with eyelashes.
In other words, it's always PERFECT for some, and a DISASTER for others.
My logical conclusion is that those who are perfect simply use the theory well enough to know exactly why, how and when to use something.
Because just because you have 3 great perfumes doesn't mean that when you put them all on, you'll smell good...ON THE OCCASION, then nothing is good.
It's the summer months.
These days we need to focus on WATER!!!!
In the last few weeks, I've had a lot of questions from students and customers. Most of them were troubled by poor retention.
In the end, it turned out that PLAIN WATER was the solution to the problem.
Regular...not even saline (I hope you've figured out by now that saline doesn't guarantee better retention)
Store the glue in a Kallos vacuum container.
Change it regularly.
Place it on ANY surface!!!
For some, it works great on micropore (I am among them), for others on stickers, for others on foil, stone...
But, also expect the adhesive to behave differently on each of these substrates.
What will be the best combination for the conditions in your salon?
You have to discover this for yourself, because each of us has a different work style, different temperature and humidity in the salon.
It doesn't even matter what the weather is like outside, what matters is how it is in the salon.
Do you have large fluctuations (hot-cold) in your workspace or do you manage to maintain the same conditions throughout the year?
I asked so many questions in this text!
But you have to know the answers.
And once you learn them, there are no more dilemmas!
Where will you get answers?
At trainings!
And not just one!
But on a few good ones, you definitely will.
If you want to listen to a bunch of good theory in the already well-known Kallos organization, we invite you to join us in Ljubljana for the Masterclass, 14.09.
In addition to theory, we also work on several models, and solve problems on the fly!
I'm slowly getting back into work mode, and for any questions, you know, I'm available by mail or messenger.
